How a Bereavement Luncheon Works

These packages are designed to ask as little of the family as possible:

• No headcount needed in advance. The charge per person is determined on the day of the luncheon, so you do not have to guess how many people will come back after the service.
• A short, familiar menu. Every option includes a classic house salad, homemade dinner rolls, a pasta (penne a la vodka or baked ziti), a chicken entrée (Parmigiana, Piccata or Marsala), dessert, and soda, tea and coffee.
• Room to add more. Option II adds a vegetable medley and freshly filled cannoli; Option III adds eggplant rollatini or meat lasagna and classic Italian meatballs for families who expect a larger or hungrier group.

Choosing Where to Gather

Depending on the size of your group, the luncheon can be held in the restaurant or in one of the private rooms. The Stockton Room seats up to 50 guests and the Banquet Center up to 200; both have their own restrooms and bar, and a private room keeps your family separate from the regular dining room. The service terms differ between the restaurant and a private room, as noted in the package details above. A Simple Checklist for the Family

1. Confirm the date and approximate start time with the funeral home or place of worship.
2. Call Marianna’s at 908-777-3500 to reserve the space and choose Option I, II or III.
3. Mention any dietary needs, such as gluten-free or vegetarian guests.
4. Let the funeral director or officiant announce the luncheon location at the end of the service.
